Oceans and seas:

Oceans, seas, islands and coastal areas form an integrated and essential component of the Earth's ecosystem and are critical for global food security and for sustaining economic prosperity and the well-being of many national economies, particularly in developing countries.

The protection of the oceans, all kinds of seas and coastal areas and the protection, rational use and development of their living resources The Plan of Implementation adopted by the World Summit on Sustainable Development addressed issues dealing with oceans and seas, including global and regional coordination and cooperation; sustainable fisheries; marine biodiversity and ecosystems; marine pollution from both land-based and sea-based sources; and marine science and assessments of the marine environment.

Mission: Our mission is to find a way to increase food production and enhance food security in an environmentally sound way so as to contribute to sustainable natural resource management. Man can not go forward without food and water. Children can not work well in school without food. To have new ideas and be creative one needs not to be hungry. To help people stay in their homes, instead of moving to another country, there needs to be food. Raising food for all the peoples of the world is a great endevour and it becomes even harder since we have to take into consideration our environment.

Therefore, we need each delegation to know what is the agricultural situation in their coutnry, what programs the government has used or are implementing right now. If there was something that was particularly successful, understand it and be able to explain to the rest of the delegations so that they may take it into consideration for their country. Deleates also need to understand the environmental problems that their countries have and how agriculture relates to this. You must also take into consideration that many countries’ don’t have very much money so how can we increase agriculture in their states with the minimum of investment.

Questions:
  1. What solutions does your country make about this problem?
  2. How is your country affected? Do you have enough food for everyone? Do you have environmental problems that are going to affect agriculture?
  3. Does the problem in your country affect others? For instance, have your people migrated to other countries in order to havae enough food for their children and themselves? Do you have any immigration problems caused by famine or hunger?
  4. How does your country help others?
  5. What is your country’s opinion?
